Lifesaving Museum

Located on the Boardwalk at the inlet, the museum is housed in one of the oldest existing structures in Ocean City, which once served both the United States Life-Saving Service and the Coast Guard for the purpose of aiding victims of sea disasters.

The museum has wonderful treasures from the deep sea such as Davy Jones' Locker, an exhibit of artifacts recovered from shipwrecks lying off the Delmarva coastline.

An illustrated exhibit of the US Life-Saving Service from 1875 to 1915 recalls courageous efforts by man against forces of nature.

The bathing suit room is a popular attraction.

The museum also features several large saltwater aquariums which contain marine life indegenous to the area.

Free educational programs are offered in July and August, such as beach safety, Ocean City history, knot tying and Sharks.
